Truck Loading Plate Specifications
For greater height difference and/or length beyond 48", or bridging spans of 18" and over dock boards with sided curbs should be used.
To select the proper truck loading plate:
1. Determine height difference between truck and dock.
2. Establish proper plate width- should not be less than 12" wider than the widest load being moved.
3. Determine capacity
For a hand truck, capacity = maximum load weight + equipment weight + operator weight
For four wheel equipment or a pallet truck, capacity = (max load weight + equipment weight) X .75
Round capacities to the nearest 50 or 100 lbs.
